The idea I came up with to end poverty is very simple. Build houses that you give to the poor in developing countries (the Third World). As the houses go up in value the poor become rich. How do you fund this? By putting a 0.5% tax on foreign currency transactions. This would raise £1.25 trillion (thousand billion) per year world wide. This could build many houses per year with good infrastructure as well. The poor in the developing countries could be employed to build the houses so much of this money would be pumped into those economies. This money would circulate round their society creating new jobs and investment, jump starting their economies. The house prices would go up because of this.
